Headquartered in the heart of the beautiful Ribble Valley, Lancashire Automobile Club has a long and distinguished motoring history dating back to its foundation in 1902. Originally known as the North East Lancashire Automobile Club, the founding members created what was to become the second oldest motoring club in the United Kingdom and set in motion an organisation that has continued to operate through two world wars, a pandemic and everything in between. Being centrally located, the Club has a wide local catchment area but also attracts interest from members and entrants the length and breadth of the country. We currently have over 300 members, a good proportion of whom participate in the Touring Assemblies and social events which are at the core of Club life, combined with active involvement in UK motorsport with members participating in regional and national championship
events and officiating in various capacities.

Although many members have a background and love of “Classic” cars, our philosophy has always been that if a car is cherished by its owner, it is worthy of involvement in our events, so a wide range of vehicles can be seen on our events – as you can see in the Gallery photographs and videos.

Becoming a member of Lancashire Automobile Club opens the door to a community of like-minded individuals who share a passion for cars and enjoy the benefits of an active social scene. Membership opens up a yearly calendar of not only our own great touring assemblies – stretching to the Scottish borders in the north and to the Yorkshire Dales to the east, but also as a Motorsport UK member Club, we are members of two Regional Associations (ANCC and ANWCC) which means for those members who wish to take part in UK motorsport events, especially sprinting and hill climbing, entries are open to a wide range of events. And for those who wish to get closer to on-track action without competing, marshalling and event official roles are also available.

The Club takes pride in offering well organised value for money events with something for almost all tastes and interests; ranging from twelve car rallies and touring assemblies using tulip road books to old school plot and bash map reading. A copy of the in-house magazine, All Torque, issued 3 times a year, either in printed format by post, or as a cheaper option in an online format, forms part of your yearly subscription together with invitations to participate in events organised by other motoring clubs. Another significant benefit is that members are entitled to discounted entries to all our own Club-run events, which can save a significant part of your membership fee.
