This event revives the spirit of one of the early Reliability Trials from 1904 organised by the LAC’s predescessor the North East Lancashire Automobile Club. The route follows as closely as possible the original route to Kendal and returns via the Trough of Bowland using roads from other events from the ealy days. The route book is a simple descriptive set of instructions in the spirit of the original event.

Starting from the Mytton Fold Hotel near Whalley the route goes to Whalley where the original event started then follows, as far as possible the original route through Clitheroe and on through the Ribble Valley taking in the villages of Sawley, Wigglesworth, Clapham and Endmoor to Kendal. After reaching the original runs rest halt in Kendal (we don't stop there) the route returns south through Hincaster and Burton in Lonsdale to stop for a comfort break at Burton Services on the M6 (the route does not use the M6).

From the rest halt we again go south to go through Over Kellet and the Trough of Bowland to scale Jeffry Hill on our way back to The Mytton Fold for pie peas and chips.

The entry fee includes two tickets for the food at Mytton Fold. If you require additional tickets please contact;

Sandra Williams, E mail sandra.williams21@btinternet.com Tel 07772 560021 (M),

who will arrange for you to receive additional tickets at a cost of £15.00 per ticket. Please apply for additional tickets before the 10th June.

After the conclusion of the event each entrant (one per car) will be given a replica of the original medals given out on the original run to commemorate the early pioneers courtesy of our sponsors Whiting and Wilson Ltd.
