Novice Driver follows Family Tradition!

Anthony with Phil in the car.

Following surgery, Anthony Taylor was unable to compete in the first round of the Jaguar Drivers` Club 4 Hills & a Sprint Championship’s opening round at Aintree.

First time ever in a sprint, his younger brother Phil, accepted the entry and drive, in the Aristocat XK and was delighted to come 2nd in the Powered By Jaguar section.

Phil ready for the off.

Great result perhaps Anthony will be less keen to let him have the reigns in the future – he may well provide strong  opposition!

Auto Unio Laps of Donington – This time in full coluor

We have already put a black and white version of the Auto Union’s lap of Donington so we are now sharing a full colour version.

I think the black and white version better fits in with the vintage of the pre war circuit and I’m not sure about the pretend engineer to driver radio conversation either!

Drag Racing at Woodvale 1965

I know I have mentioned this before but Lancashire Automobile Club ran Drag race meetings at Woodvale in the mid 60’s.

This is a fantastic full colour film of the 1965 event. As a 15 year old I am somewhere in the crowb and loving every minute of it!

Motor Racing Memories.

Motor Racing Memories.

With motor racing in limbo for now we thought you might enjoy this video taken in 1991 showing a round of the JDC Historic and Replicar Campionship. The race was Castle Combe. Lancashire Automobile Club member Anthony Taylor was there with his white Mclaren replica which he not only drove but also built. In the race second gear broke leaving the grid and so he came round at end of lap one in last place from memory.
He got back up to about 4th and then those notorious big Combe bumps wore a hole through the sump !!
