2019 Diner Dance “Oh what a night!”

The 2019 bash got under way with glasses of fizz and the souds of our live band the Bartenders.

The food was excellent, the music fantastic and the company great. What more can you ask for?

Carolyn Taylor and Eileen Dyson had made the room look something special and Mitton Hall had pulled out all the stops to make us welcome.

Of course we had to have the Prize Presentation but we minimised the duration of the proceedings whilst applauding the efforts of members throughout the year.

Noteworthy winners included:

Tony Lund and Margaret Polley won the Wood Trophy for their exploits on the LAC road events.

John Hartley recieved the Attwater Trophy for his services to the Club. He has organized the Fellsman Rally for the last 25 years so perhaps that is sufficient!

The winner of the Classic Challenge, The RW Clarke Memorial Award wass Geoff Awde who either entered or officiated on almost every LAC event.

Present by Jaguar Cars Plc the Jaguar Trophy is presented you Jag drivers who have achived something special this year the award went to Steve and Deborah who entered all our events in their resplendent Jaguar E Type. What a fine entrant, stopping to do Fire Duties when a fellow entrant’s car burst into flames. Not only did they help a fellow entrant, saved the LAC a headache but also saving some insurers a huge sum of money for the acres of dry, wheat that almost went up in flames!

The Presidents Award went to Carolyn and Eileen for their unstinting efforts on the ‘social side’ throughout the year.

Finally the top award, the Peter Collins Trophy, had already been presented to Brian Redman for a lifetime in motorsport at the triannual Sportsman’s Lunch and as he lives in Florida….

All in all a great evening roll of 2020!
