Manchester to Blackpool
Categories No Categories
Now in its 56th year our popular Manchester to Blackpool Run incorporates a significant amount of ‘new’ roads on it’s route.
As always there is a choice of routes with a Direct Route designed to be less challenging which avoids steep inclines, is shorter, and has guide speed of 19mph. The longer scenic route takes in Pendle Hill and is more of a challenge to car and driver with timings based on 26mph. Older cars may opt for a start from the lunch halt and have timings based on 12mph.
As well as a Route Book with clear written instructions and rally style ‘tulip diagrams’ you will have a Route Information Book which will give information about places of interest you pass through.
Starting from Worsley Old Hall near junction 13 on the M60 the route goes west of Bolton and up to Belmont before going east to the Duke of Wellington at Haslingden for a short refreshment break.
We then make our way, via the Ribble Valley to the Lancashire Fusillers Museum in Fulwood for a lunch break before going to Blackpool via Wrea Green and Lytham. The finish is at the Italian Gardens in Stanley Park where we have a simple Concours De Elegance.
The event is open to cars of all ages. If you cherrish your car we cherish you!
